Our early intervention programme is for children who are awaiting assessment or have a language delay, Autism or communication related difficulties. The purpose of this programme is to support you and your child in these important early years.
This programme is child centred and parent led. By this, we mean that each programme recognises each child as their own individual, with their own strengths, likes, dislikes and challenges. It is also parent led in that, we will work towards reaching goals that are of priority to you and your family.
The early learner programme begins with an initial consultation with your family, to gather background information on your child and to interact with them. Following this, a 1:1 session would be carried out where we would spend time assessing your child’s skill level. Once we have an understanding on this, our focus would be to give you practical advice and guidance on how to teach these skills through everyday life and interactions.
The strategies used are founded in the principles of behaviour (ABA). This means that they are based on research and evidence and have proven positive outcomes. If you are accessing the home tuition grant, the skills list can also be given to the tutor. Through doing this, we are all working collaboratively to reach the same goal. As your child progresses, the skills list will be adjusted and changed to meet their changing needs and development.
